2D Animated Music Video for our client Chynaman.
OVERVIEW
The client was looking for a reliable 2D animation team capable of delivering professional-quality work for a music video. They had previously worked with another animator who was unable to move past the storyboard stage, leaving the project unfinished.
Our goal was to bring the artist’s vision to life through dynamic animation, strong visual storytelling, and smooth camera movement—capturing the fun and adventurous journey of the two main characters.
APPROACH & PRODUCTION CHALLENGES
Brainstorming & Visualization
We began by brainstorming and visualizing the key scenes, creating small sketch thumbnails to plan out the most challenging and dynamic shots. This helped establish the flow, energy, and timing before moving into full animation.

Animation Production
All animation work was completed in Procreate Dreams using iPad. The device’s portability made the workflow flexible and efficient, especially for frame-by-frame sequences. However, one major challenge was file management, as Procreate Dreams files tend to be significantly larger compared to desktop software like Toon Boom, requiring careful organization and optimization.

Background & Compositing
Backgrounds were created separately and later composited in Adobe After Effects. To enhance visual depth, we applied 3D rotation and layered camera movement, giving the final video a more cinematic and immersive feel. This combination of 2D animation and 3D compositing added realism and depth to the scenes while maintaining a stylized, vibrant look.

RESULT
The final animated music video—despite the production challenges—was delivered with fun, lively energy and dynamic transitions that perfectly matched the rhythm of the song. Every scene flowed seamlessly, with expressive character motion and fluid camera work bringing the story to life. The end result captured the adventurous spirit of the two main characters, leaving the client highly satisfied with the quality and creativity of the finished piece.
